雅思阅读理解句子太难该怎么办？

　　在雅思阅读当中有40个题目，对应原文大概有40左右的句子需要我们去理解，那么在碰到那些本身含有一些不熟悉的单词，句法又很复杂的长难句时我们该如何处理?

　　比如剑12 Test 8 Passage2当中的一个长难句：

　　The knock-on effect of this scrutiny has been to make the governance of companies in general an issue of intense public debate and has significantly increased the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors.

　　Key words：

　　knock-on effect 冲击

　　scrutiny [ˈskrutni] n. 仔细检查;彻底审查

　　director n. 主管; 董事; 负责人; 导演;

　　make/find +sth.+n./adj.(补语，补充说明前面的宾语sth)

　　这个句子看似很长其实主干部分是：

　　The knock-on effect has been to make the governance an issue and has increased the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors.

　　可以把这分成两个句子结构：

　　1.The knock-on effect has been to make the governance an issue.

　　2.The knock-on effect has increased the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors.

　　第1个句子是这样一个句子结构：主语+make +sth.+n./adj.(补语，补充说明前面的宾语sth)

　　那么这个句子也就不难理解了：这个冲击使得管理成为了话题。

　　什么样的冲击?管理?对什么的管理?话题又是怎样的话题?

　　* The knock-on effect of this scrutiny：这种审查带来的冲击;

　　* the governance of companies in general：通常对于公司的管理;

　　* an issue of intense public debate：公众热议的话题

　　因此第1句话可以这样理解：这种审查带来的冲击就是使公司的管理成为公众热议的话题

　　第2个句子说中的难点在于理解the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors这个短语的结构，这部分是省略结构：当介词宾语结构中宾语一样时，可以把前面的宾语省略，留着最后一个宾语就可以。

　　* the pressures on, and the responsibilities of, directors ：董事的压力和责任

　　* significantly increased：极大地增加了

　　因此第二个句子结构可以这样理解：这种审查带来的冲击极大增加了董事的压力及责任。

　　拆分下来，这个长难句看起来也没有这么难理解：这种审查带来的冲击就是使公司的管理成为公众热议的话题，这极大增加了董事的压力及责任。
